Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania – Arusha

Meet your Nawahi team in Arusha and settle into your accommodation. Your private safari guide will provide a relaxed briefing covering the journey, seasonal conditions and the migration route ahead. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure before your safari begins.

Day 2: Arusha → Tarangire

Depart Arusha and enter Tarangire National Park for your first wildlife experience. Explore the park's distinctive landscapes of ancient baobabs, open plains, woodland and seasonal wetlands. Follow wildlife activity throughout the day, with excellent opportunities to encounter elephants, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, antelope and predators.

Day 3: Tarangire → Ngorongoro Crater

Enjoy a morning game drive in Tarangire before continuing towards the Ngorongoro Highlands. The route passes through changing landscapes as you climb towards the volcanic highlands. Settle into your accommodation near Ngorongoro and enjoy the surrounding scenery before the following day's crater experience.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater → Central Serengeti

Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for an immersive morning wildlife drive. Explore the crater floor in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, hyenas, flamingos and, with luck, black rhino. After the crater experience, continue towards Central Serengeti, entering the vast plains and kopje country of the Serengeti ecosystem.

Day 5: Central Serengeti → Northern Serengeti

Enjoy a wildlife-focused morning in Central Serengeti before continuing north towards Kogatende. As you travel, your guide will monitor seasonal herd movements and adapt the route according to recent sightings. Arrive in Northern Serengeti and begin exploring the landscapes surrounding Kogatende and the Mara River region.

Day 6: Northern Serengeti: Mara River Wildeness

Spend a full day exploring Northern Serengeti around Kogatende and the Mara River. This is the heart of the journey, with the route shaped around the location of the migrating herds and current wildlife activity.

Day 7: Northern Serengeti → Arusha

Enjoy a final morning game drive in Northern Serengeti before beginning your journey out of the wilderness. Depending on your travel arrangements, continue by road towards Arusha or connect with a scheduled safari flight for a more time-efficient departure. Arrive in Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.
