Day 2 Day Itinerary

Morning:
After a brief safari briefing and safety instructions, depart from your accommodation and enjoy a 30-minute drive to Arusha National Park. Along the way, you will pass through local villages and lush green fields. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your guide, who will give an overview of the park's history, wildlife, and ecological zones. The park is known for its diverse ecosystems, ranging from the dense forests at the base of Mount Meru to the open grasslands and wetlands that surround the Momella Lakes.
Begin your game drive through the park’s northern circuit, where you will have the chance to spot giraffes, warthogs, and zebras. The woodlands surrounding the Ngurdoto Crater provide good chances of seeing buffaloes, waterbucks, and the rare black-and-white colobus monkeys in the dense rainforest. The park is a great location for birdwatching. You will have the chance to spot flamingos along the shores of the Momella Lakes, as well as African fish eagles, herons, and various species of kingfishers and weavers.

Lunch:
Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park’s designated viewing points, overlooking the beautiful Momella Lakes. You will have an opportunity to relax, take in the scenery, and enjoy the sounds of the park's natural environment.
After lunch, embark on a walking safari with an experienced park ranger. This walk allows you to get closer to the flora and smaller wildlife of the park. You may encounter various species of monkeys, birds, and insects, while learning about the local medicinal plants and conservation efforts.
This is also a great opportunity to explore the forested slopes of Mount Meru, with breathtaking views of the Ngurdoto Crater and the surrounding valleys.
Momella Lakes & Scenic Views:
Continue your exploration around the Momella Lakes area. The lakes are famous for the flamingos that inhabit the region, particularly during the wet season. Enjoy panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley and the surrounding landscapes of Mount Meru, Mount Kilimanjaro, and Mount Hanang in the distance.
Late Afternoon:
Before returning to Arusha, take one last game drive through the park. The late afternoon is often the best time to see animals as they return to the watering holes for a drink before dusk. Look for herds of giraffes and buffaloes grazing, and observe antelopes and wildebeests.
Departure:
By late afternoon, your guide will return you to Arusha, where you will arrive around 5:30 PM.
Meals: Breakfast and picnic lunch are included. Dinner can be arranged upon return to your hotel.
