After a brief orientation, embark on a scenic 4-5 hour drive from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park, enjoying the beautiful landscapes of open plains, rolling hills, and local villages. Upon arrival, your guide will introduce the park's history, ecosystems, and wildlife. Begin your morning safari game drive through Mikumi's savannah and woodlands, where you may see elephants, zebras, giraffes, lions, leopards, and various antelope species like impalas and elands. Continue to Mikumi's wetlands, a prime birdwatching area, where you might spot marabou storks, hornbills, herons, and possibly a hippopotamus or crocodile along the Rufiji River.
