Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha → Ndutu

Meet your Nawahi team in Arusha and begin your journey towards the southern Serengeti and Ndutu area. Depending on your departure time and road conditions, arrive in the migration zone with an opportunity for an afternoon game drive. Enter the landscape of short-grass plains, seasonal lakes and open savanna where large herds gather during the calving season. Your guide will monitor recent herd movements and wildlife activity to identify the most promising areas.

Overnight: Ndutu / Southern Serengeti

Day 2: Ndutu/Calving Season

Spend a full day exploring the Ndutu area during the calving season. Thousands of wildebeest calves may be born across the plains during this period, creating one of the most remarkable wildlife spectacles in Tanzania. The day is not only about newborn animals. The abundance of young prey attracts predators including lions, cheetahs and hyenas, creating opportunities to observe hunting, protection and survival in real time. Your private guide will follow the natural rhythm of the herds and allow time for meaningful wildlife observation.

Overnight: Ndutu / Southern Serengeti

Day 3: Ndutu → Ngrongoro

Enjoy a final morning game drive around Ndutu before continuing towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Depending on wildlife activity and timing, your guide may use the morning to explore areas where the herds remain concentrated. Continue into the Ngorongoro Highlands and settle into your accommodation, surrounded by the dramatic volcanic landscape.

Overnight: Ngorongoro Highlands

Day 3: Ngrongoro → Arusha

Descend into Ngorongoro Crater early for a memorable final wildlife experience. Explore the crater floor in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, hyenas, flamingos and, with luck, the endangered black rhino. After the crater game drive, ascend from the crater and continue towards Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.

Journey ends: Arusha / JRO
